GUIDELINES FOR COURSE GRADE APPEAL

1.0.  Students may obtain the Course Grade Appeal Form (UTM.E/5-1 Form) at the IRK. The students must submit the completed course grade appeal form (4 copies) through IRK and make the necessary payment to the UTMSPACE Office according to the following procedure:

1.1.  USD50.00 will be charged for each course grade appeal.

1.2.  payment forms are available at the UTMSPACE office.

1.3.  payment must be made through Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT). Personal cheques are not accepted.


2.0.  Students will have to submit copies of the form to the faculty though the IRK offering the course that they are appealing. A copy of the form is to be kept by the student. Students will have to enclose the payment receipt when they submit the course grade appeal forms.

3.0.  The faculty offering the course will appoint a panel to re-assess and re-mark the student examination answer scripts.

4.0.  The faculty offering the course has to be a report on the result of reassessment and re-marking to the student’s faculty or IRK.

5.0.  Following the reassessment/re-marking, the marks awarded will be the ones following the reassessment/re-marking. If marks are lower than the original marks, then original mark will be retained. The student’s faculty or IRK must update the student's examination record.

6.0.  The student’s faculty or IRK has to inform the student of the results of the reassessment/re-marking and/or the appeal.

7.0.  The decision of the reassessment/re-marking is final
