Qaiwan International University (QIU) was established in 2018 in Sulaimanyah, Kurdistan
Region of Iraq. It was initially established as a franchise of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia
(UTM), aiming to provide local students with access to international education without the
need to study abroad, thereby reducing the financial burden on students and their families.
Later in 2022, QIU expanded its offerings by introducing additional programs franchised by
Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), further diversifying its educational portfolio.
Special Examination can be held for students who are unable to sit for the final examination due to:
Task of national interest: or
An illness as certified by a Hospital Medical Officer; or
Students who are involved in a calamity (such as accident, natural disaster, or; death of parents or close relatives and other certified by the university).
Students are required to submit application with proof to IRK.
Special Examination will be held for final students who have passed with Good Status (KB) but failed in ONE (1) of the courses taken during the last TWO (2) semesters of study, excluding the semester used for Industrial Training provided that students enroll in the course when it is offered.
Students who undergo Industrial Training in the final semester of study may apply to sit for Special Examinations as in Item 7.2 during the previous semester.
The Special Examination marks will be used to determine the results of the course as follows:
The Special Examination marks as in Item 7.1 will be used to replace the final examination marks whereas the coursework marks will be retained.
The Special Examination marks as in Items 7.2 and
will be used to determine course results, i.e. Pass or Fail and will not be used in GPA and CGPA calculations. Students who failed are required to repeat the course.
Special Examination will not be held for the following:

Special Examination will not be held for the following:
courses that have no final examinations; or
students who did not take the final examination without valid reasons acceptable to the university; or
students who attend less than 80% of the total scheduled contact hours of a course; or
students who failed due to disciplinary action; or
students who did not repeat the course when offered in the semester
Special Examination for a course will only be conducted once a semester unless approved by the Senate.
Students who fail to sit for the Special Examination for item 7.1 will be given ZERO (0) mark for the final exam
