Anfal tragedy commemorated at QIU

The Presidency, faculty, and staff of Qaiwan International University convened in observance of the 36th anniversary of the Anfal tragedy during a ceremony held on April 14th.

The Anfal tragedy, perpetrated by the Ba'ath regime three and a half decades ago, led to the disappearance of 182,000 individuals, with some being subjected to the horrific act of being buried alive. This egregious atrocity was officially recognized as genocide by the Iraqi High Criminal Court seventeen years ago.
