ACADEMIC CONFERMENT

Diploma students qualify to be conferred with a Diploma according to the terms below:

• Achieved a CGPA of at least 2.00;
• Passed all the required courses of an academic programme   with a Complete status (ANC, TS, or TM);
• Fulfilled all terms and requirements of the University;
• Validated by the Senate.

Bachelor’s Degree students qualify to be conferred with a Degree according to the terms below:

• Achieved a CGPA of at least 2.00;
• Passed all the required courses of an academic programme with a Complete status (ANC, TS, or TM);
• Fulfilled all terms and requirements of the University;
• Have sat for English Exit Test (EET) and
• Validated by the Senate.
• [Clause 2.30.2.4 is effective starting with the March 2015 intake].

Classification of Degree

The classification of Degree is according to the students’ CGPA value as set by the Senate (refer to Table 6) and is divided as follows:

• First Class.
• Second Class (Upper). 
• Second Class (Lower).
• Third Class.
• [Clause 2.30.3 is effective starting with the October 2008 Examination batch].

The Vice-Chancellor’s Award (ANC)

Students are awarded the ANC with the fulfilment of the following terms: 

• Completed the programme and achieved AD for each semester within the minimum period of study, not inclusive of industrial training (refer to Table 5). 
• Passed industrial training for students who are required to undergo industrial training.
• Have never repeated or given TL status for any course.
• Have never been implicated in any disciplinary action.

The Dean’s Award (AD)

Students are awarded the AD with the fulfilment of the following terms:

• Achieved a minimum Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.50 and registered for at least twelve (12) course credit units with grades in a semester.
• Have never been implicated in any disciplinary action.

Transcripts and Scrolls

• The official Transcript and Scroll are awarded to students who have completed an academic programme.
• Students who have been dismissed/withdrawn from the University can apply for transcripts with a stipulated payment.
