Qaiwan International University (QIU) was established in 2018 in Sulaimanyah, Kurdistan
Region of Iraq. It was initially established as a franchise of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia
(UTM), aiming to provide local students with access to international education without the
need to study abroad, thereby reducing the financial burden on students and their families.
Later in 2022, QIU expanded its offerings by introducing additional programs franchised by
Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), further diversifying its educational portfolio.
The registration of courses must be done online through the Student Portal according to the procedures set by the University.
Diploma and Bachelor’s degree students must register a total credit hour of between 12 to 20 credit units. Exceptions can be given through applications and approval of the Dean/Rector.
Final semester Bachelor’s degree students with a Pass status are allowed to register for 24 credit units with the approval of the Dean/Rector to complete the study.
The total credit unit allowed for Diploma students with Perhatian (Attention) status (Clause 2.22.3) is not more than twelve (12) credits within a semester.
The total credit unit allowed for Bachelor’s degree students with Perhatian (Attention) status (Clause 2.22.3) is not more than fifteen (15) credits within a semester.
