SPECIAL LEAVE

  • Full-time students can apply for special leave for a maximum of two (2) semesters.
  • Extended Full-time and Part-Time students can apply for special leave for a maximum of four (4) semesters.     
  • The period of special leave that is approved due to health-related reasons or other reasons justified by the Dean/Rector is not considered part of the study duration in the University.
  • The period of special leave approved due to reasons other than stated under Clause 2.8.3 is considered part of the study duration in the University and given PG status.
  • Application for special leave must be done online by filling up the Special Leave Form no later than fourteen (14) working days before the commencement date of the final examination. Application for special leave due to health reasons must be accompanied by letters/medical reports provided by University Medical Officers or government hospitals.
  • Students provided with medical care by their employers must attach letters/medical reports provided by Medical Officers from the employers’ Healthcare Panels when applying for special leave.
  • The approval for special leave applications will be reviewed by the Dean/Rector of the present semester only.
  • Paid study fees from students of approved special leave applications will be carried forward to the coming semester after the deduction of the student status maintenance fee. The paid study fee that is being carried forward is subject to Clause 2.8.3 (JKP 167).
  • To retain active student status, full-time students who have yet to pay their study fees will have to pay RM55.00 and PLK students who have yet to pay their fees will be charged RM45.00(JKP 167).
